Protect Your Gums, Teeth, Reduce Inflammation on your Body! Miracle Clay

Notes for today: I like using this toothpaste as well due to ingredients not in the recipe below. Your gut needs healthy bacteria and yeast and your mouth needs them too! In fact, your gut starts there.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons Bentonite Clay: Acts as a gentle cleanser with detoxifying properties.

  • 2 teaspoons Coconut Oil: Provides a base that has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda (optional): Enhances cleaning properties (not recommended if you have sensitive skin or gums).

  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger: Adds anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder: For flavor and its natural antibacterial properties.

  • 10–15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil: For a refreshing taste and natural antiseptic properties.

  • 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil (optional): Adds antimicrobial properties (avoid if you have sensitive skin).

  • Enough water or aloe vera juice to achieve the desired consistency: Aloe vera adds soothing properties, while water keeps it simple.

Directions:

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a non-metallic bowl, mix the bentonite clay, baking soda (if using), ground ginger, and cinnamon powder together. Avoid using metal utensils with bentonite clay as it can reduce its effectiveness.

  2. Add the Oils: Incorporate the coconut oil into the dry ingredients. Make sure it's in a softened state but not completely liquid. This helps it blend better. Then, add the peppermint and tea tree essential oils. Mix well until all components are evenly distributed.

  3. Adjust Consistency: Slowly add water or aloe vera juice, a few drops at a time, stirring continuously until you reach a paste-like consistency that's easy to spread but not too runny.

  4. Store Properly: Transfer the mixture to a glass jar with a lid. Ensure the container is airtight to preserve the toothpaste's properties.

Usage: As Toothpaste: Apply a small amount to your toothbrush and brush as usual. Be gentle to avoid irritation, especially given the abrasive nature of baking soda.

For Pain: Apply a generous amount and let sit for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse off. If its a chronic scar or pain, it may take 1 to 2 months of daily application. You can do it up to 3x per day for quicker recovery. If its a joint, surround it on all sides.

For the Skin: Apply a thin layer to the skin where inflammation or irritation is present. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, and then rinse off. Be sure to read the tips below to avoid any adverse reactions

Tips: Always perform a patch test on the inside of your wrist before using the product on your face or gums, especially when adding essential oils. You can adjust the amount of ginger and cinnamon based on your preference for flavor and potential skin sensitivity. If you have very sensitive skin or gums, consider omitting essential oils and baking soda. This homemade bentonite and ginger paste offers a natural, chemical-free alternative for dental and skin care, leveraging the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of its ingredients.
